Thinking of buying a home in Cary, NC? Well, it’s not just local real estate agents who think it’s a good idea. Here are three recent accolades that just might make you want to pack up and move to Cary.

Where Millennials are Buying Homes

It’s good if you’re a millennial, but what if you’re not? Nope, still good—millennial buying is a sign that the town has a lot of attractive qualities, like access to amenities and entertainment, affordable and modern homes, plenty of outdoor spaces, and a booming job market.

Cary ranked at #6, behind towns like Sioux Falls, Elk Grove, Bakersfield, and Roseville of CA, and Peoria, IL, and ahead of some big-name towns like Fort Wayne, Chattanooga, Anchorage, and Omaha.

The market study analyzed factors such as stability, risk, ease of sale, and overall affordability.

Cary was rated behind only the smaller towns of Matthews and Lewisville, and the only other Triangle areas on the Top 10 list were Morrisville and Durham.

It starts with every town between 50,000 and 300,000 and analyzes over 300,000 data points, including factors such as predicted job growth, crime rates, diversity, property values, and median incomes. Finally, it singles out 50 towns and cities with low taxes, strong economies, and good accessibility to health care, entertainment and culture, top public schools, outdoor activities, and sports.

Last year, Cary ranked #37 of the Top 50 (out of over 800 towns and cities). Money noted the town’s access to stores and amenities, pro and college sports in nearby Raleigh, high safety ratings, growing job opportunities, major employers in town (like SAS, Fidelity, and Verizon), plethora of parks and greenways, fun festivals and events, relative affordability, and access to nearby major employers like NC State, Duke, UNC, and the Research Triangle Park.
